The Davis Core Pond Cleanup will be held on Saturday, May 15th from 9 am to 12 pm. The “Core Pond” is located on 2nd Street between L Street and Pole Line Road (adjacent to the Toad Hollow Dog Park).
This event is being hosted by the Riparian Improvement Organization (RIO) in conjunction with the City of Davis to help clean up the pond after a fairly active rainy season. The pond is fed partially by storm drains, which convey stormwater, along with any trash and debris present on streets during storms. Volunteers will be on hand to discuss the ecology of the Core Pond and its vital role in stormwater management and quality.
